The Great Room is approximately 16ft. x 16ft. Both the floor and the wainscoating are Italian ceramic tile, and, as everywhere else in this home, the woodwork -- including the chair and crown molding -- was painstakingly fashioned by a master cabinetmaker. The Great Room has two interior doors on the north wall, one leading to the pantry and the other to the fourth bedroom. Rear entry and exit are provided by a framed steel door on the west wall, which also has a large set of double windows. The south wall is pictured, immediately below, and the east wall has the sliding glass doors leading to the back yard, with lovely shade from the mango tree. Though an addition built in 1980, this room has both a/c and a ceiling fan. We practically live in this room, our favorite.
